Porcelain Veneers in Lawrenceville

There are approximately 6,500 languages spoken around the world today—but only one is universal. A smile. Without uttering a single word, your smile tells everyone that you are happy, content, pleased, confident and friendly. However, if you have a smile that makes you feel ashamed or embarrassed, then you may not “speak” the language of smile. If the condition of your teeth keeps you from smiling as often as you want, then speak to Dr. Pete or Dr. Alex. With porcelain veneers, Lawrenceville residents can have a gorgeous smile that speaks volumes.

Porcelain Veneers: What Are They?

In simple terms, porcelain veneers—which are also called dental veneers or just veneers—are coverings that are cemented to the front side of your upper and lower teeth that show most when you smile, laugh or speak. They are made of fine dental porcelain or composite resin, the same material used when placing a tooth-colored filling. Both porcelain and composite resin are extremely strong and durable; with proper care and regular dental checkups, veneers can last for many years before needing replacement.

Porcelain Veneers: How Are They Designed?

Porcelain veneers are individually designed and hand crafted. This ensures that your new smile will look completely natural and not like you’ve had little blocks of porcelain bonded to your teeth. Your incisors will look like incisors and canines will look like canines. In addition, Dr. Pete and Dr. Alex consider other aesthetics such as the size of your mouth, the shape of your lips and even your complexion. This way you can be sure that the shape, color and size of your porcelain veneers are perfect for your smile.

Porcelain Veneers: What Are the Steps?

Once we’ve determined that you are a qualified candidate for porcelain veneers—and most people are—then you’re only two appointments away from your new and beautiful smile. Lawrenceville dentist Dr. Pete or Dr. Alex will anesthetize your front teeth and then remove a slim layer of tooth enamel. This step makes room for the veneers so your teeth don’t look too large. After this permanent alteration, you’ll always need coverings on your teeth. Therefore, we’ll give you a set of temporary acrylic veneers to wear while our dental lab crafts the permanent set.

In just two weeks, you’ll return to the dentist in Lawrenceville to have your customized porcelain veneers bonded to your teeth. The temporaries will be removed and Dr. Pete or Dr. Alex will double-check the size and shape of each veneer. Then they are cemented into place and you have a brand new smile!
